BGSE hosts Manchester City Champion İlkay Gündoğan for the 2019 ESPY Awards

You could say it’s the equivalent to the first Monday in May? Perhaps not, but we always enjoy ESPYS week and this year we had the privilege of hosting a European super star footballer, İlkay Gündoğan. For those who are not familiar with Soccer, İlkay is a German professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Manchester City and the Germany national team.
He is also a champion, of many things. He won the Premier League and EFL Cup last year and this year, 2018 and 2019, in addition to winning the FA Cup in 2019.
The Players Tribune party was, per usual one of the best events during the week. The event was star studded, with NFL, NBA, and even Derek Jeter. There was a live performance by YG. The stage was in the middle of the event, so it lead to a very intimate performance where you were almost on stage with YG.
The second Wednesday in July came a bit early this year with the ESPYS landing on Wednesday July 10th, but perhaps this was a blessing as the weather was not as hot as most years. Ilkay shone bright on the red carpet making his arrival right behind NBA super star Dwight Howard.
The football fans came out for İlkay and he did many interviews including ESPN International, DISH Nation, ESPN and more!
To top everything off, ESQUIRE Magazine named İlkay top 10 best dressed!
