BG Sports is excited to announce the signing of NFL cornerback Tarell Brown to the BG Sports team. Entering his ninth season in the National Football League, Tarell Brown is a veteran cornerback hailing from North Mesquite High School in Mesquite, Texas. Highly recruited by powerhouse colleges such as Texas, Florida and Ohio State, Brown was a four-star prospect coming out of high school and rated among the top 5 cornerbacks nationally in his 2003 class.

Committing to the Texas Longhorns following high school, Brown’s best season came in 2005, where he finished with 54 tackles for the season and was also a member of the National Championship team that played in the 2006 Rose Bowl National Championship Game against USC. Despite a stress fracture his senior year at Texas, Brown still managed to play 11 games and finish with 42 tackles a testament to the determination and dedication that defines him.

Tarell went on to be drafted the San Francisco 49ers in the 2007 NFL Draft, as one of seven Texas Longhorns selected in the draft. Despite playing in nine games, Tarell went on to tear both his MCL and MCL during his rookie season. His hard work ultimately enabled him to become a starter in 2011 for the 49ers, where he helped establish one of the elite defenses in the NFL.

The 2012-2013 season proved to be Tarell’s most impressive yet, one in which his team competed in the Super Bowl. He had five interceptions in the last six regular season games. On the biggest stage in professional sports, Tarell caused a fumble in the Super Bowl which he went on to recover, a play that revitalized the San Francisco 49ers in the game.

Besides his passion for football, Tarell is very involved with philanthropic efforts, founding The Brown’s Kids Foundation. Through his foundation, Tarell hopes to empower youth to succeed in areas of education, self growth and break the cycle of poverty. Tarell is also very involved in delivering the message of his clothing line “STUT.” STUT stands for “Stronger Than You Think” and is one of Tarell’s ways of motivating and providing others encouragement and reminding them how they are capable of finding strength and success.
